The footwear brand was founded in 2010 in the East End of London by Laura Villasenin, to fill a space in the market for handmade women’s shoes with a sense of stubbornness towards the typical fashion system. Born in Galicia, in the North of Spain, an area with a rich heritage of craftsmanship, Miista combines Laura’s desire to pair the history of luxury craft with a contemporary subversive aesthetic. Created with Italian leathers and unexpected materials, Miista is committed to doing the opposite, slightly different thing. The brand aims to continue creating, designing and crafting beautifully made products, while also partnering with charities and social organisations to create less waste within the fashion industry.
